Fascinating.... is it based on a photograph, or is there a lot of hard-core perspective work hidden under the ivy? (*Either* is impressive, in different ways!)

No, it's not based on a phptgraphy, there was a lot of work, on perspective, the ivy and whole lotta other things :).
